Fateba in short

Fateba stands for Fahrrad Technik Bachmann. It was in 1983 that Alois Bachmann and Markus Hänni created "Fateba, Bachmann & Co.".
In 1998, after Alois Bachmann left the company, it became a privately owned company called Fateba AG. Fateba AG belongs to over 60 anonymous owners, all cycling enthusiasts and Fateba customers. The stock capital  is worth CHF 250,000.--. Markus Hänni is the company's manager and for now the sole member of the board. Fateba AG employs a staff of six. The turnover increases each year. In 2011 it increased by 9% from the previous year. The turnover has since then been over the million. The 2011 fiscal year ended up in black numbers.

In the beginning of 2011, the frame manufacturing workshop was moved in order to free up some space in the store's basement located at Turmhaldestrasse 6. This space was necessary for our growing range of bikes and accessories. The old workshop now renovated serves as a showroom for our bikes.

The frame manufacturing workshop is now located in the facilities of "Neue Werkstatt GmbH" on Oberen Deutweg 1. As subtenants, we share the machines and storage space with this company. This way we benefit from advantageous leasing rates. Furthermore, we were introduced to an industry we had until then no idea of: the design and manufacturing of innovative lamps. The Neue Werkstatt company is specialized in lamp manufacturing, in particular of LED lights. The company advises manufacturers on all lighting problems and rests on a long list of accomplished reference projects.
